Psychotherapy and Meditation in Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders

'Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
There is a field. I'll meet you there.'

Psychotherapy and Counselling

My name is Nirved Wilson. I have been in private practice as a counsellor/psychotherapist for over 20 years, having worked previously for many years in the mental health and human potential contexts, in both group and 1-to-1 work.

I am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.

The work is with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.

The following broad areas are typical of what I work with :

  • Stress, anxiety, panic attacks
  • Relationship issues
  • Low self esteem
  • Loss and Bereavement
  • Depression
  • Fears and Phobias
  • Transitions
  • Spiritual Crises

My psychotherapy and counselling work is based in Edinburgh, and in the Scottish Borders near Lauder.

How often the sessions should be, and also the length of the sessions, is something that we can work out together, as it is my experience that different people have different needs and processing times. I do prefer to allow 1.5 hours for the first session, so that we have time to lay out the ground of what the work is likely to be, and also get a sense of whether we would work well together. I believe that one of the best indicators of successful work is if the 'client' feels comfortable and 'right' with the therapist. Only you will know this.

In that first session, I will give you my assessment of what I believe the pattern and length of the work might be, and the methods that may be helpful. We will work out together how to proceed, and will review how it is going after an agreed time.

Psychotherapy and Counselling Supervision

I am an experienced supervisor, registered as such with NLPtCA.

Meditation in Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders

Meditation has been the main cornerstone of my life for about 40 years. It is my belief and experience that a regular meditation practice and commitment to that inner journey provides a grounding in reality that all other personal work can rest in.
I have been teaching and offering retreats for over 20 years. For more information look at Methods and Schedule sections.
